One area new clients frequently want to get their head around is how the Bay Tree resource will present to a client’s own customers, clients and other stakeholders in their business. We are, after all, regularly reminded of the importance of employee engagement, consistency in service delivery and brand alignment. The Bay Tree team is very familiar in addressing this issue. Each has their client portfolio and from the initial chemistry meeting when they are matched to their client, they have a clear understanding of their role and the wider understanding of their client’s goals, both in terms of the organisation as a whole and the part they are being brought in to deliver. That may be a specific project, support for a management team, back filling an existing role due to an internal promotion etc.
As a recent example, Bay Tree team member, Helena, has undertaken a Microsoft tech project for a client. Her expertise as a Microsoft Office Master proved to be the overarching skill set the client was looking for to review and advise on an existing piece of work. Unlike the traditional employee, our team’s productivity is measured and recorded using time tracking app Harvest and their performance reviewed monthly ensuring 100% productivity on the tasks or project they have been set.
These are some of the other steps that the Bay Tree team embrace to work remotely but collaboratively with their clients:

1. Professional communication
We use the existing company platforms and templates for external and internal communication to follow the client’s style and format in emails, reports, and virtual presentations. If the client doesn’t have these in place, we can help to set them up. We also make sure that we adopt the same responsive and approachable style. For example, our email footer will be that of the client company rather than Bay Tree. Our team member can also appear on a client’s ‘Meet the Team’ page on their company website with no reference to Bay Tree at all.
2. Align with team goals
Despite being remote and not an employee of the client company, we actively participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions that drive the company’s objectives when required. Quite often our relationship is with one specific person and these wider conversations can highlight other areas where we can offer short term support or be a sounding board for a particular issue or problem. A good example of this is AI which is featuring on many agendas. Bay Tree is keeping ahead of the curve by utilising Microsoft Copilot and we can share our journey and experience on this and other integrations.
3. Deliver quality work
Meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards to uphold our client’s reputation is standard. The relationship is managed through our client service team dialling the resource up or down or addressing any issues simply with either in an online meeting, by email or a phone call. Some of our clients use our resource for 20 hours a month, others for more than 50 hours a month – our level of service is the same.
4. Stay connected
We are committed to the success of our clients, so work hard to build relationships within the organisation to reinforce a sense of shared purpose. We often introduce other Bay Tree team members if we find there is need for particular skills or to an area of the business that needs extra resilience and back up.
